Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (Department of Contemporary History) and the Institute of Socio-Human Researches "C.S. Nicolăescu-Plopşor" from Craiova of the Romanian Academy, organized on 4 September 2017 the scientific conference "Scientific Conference „National holidays, identity communities and competitive memories in Romania and the Republic of Moldova". The conference was hosted by the conference hall of the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History.

The Blue Hall of the National Museum of History of Moldova hosted on June 18, 2017 the seventh edition of the festive session dedicated to the celebration of the Historian's Day, organized by and with the support of the Association of the Historians of the Republic of Moldova, the Institute of History of the ASM, the Faculty of History and Philosophy of the USM, the Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University, Faculty of History and International Relations of Free International University of Moldova, the Center for Military Culture and History, the National Museum of History of Moldova. The Historian's Day, established by the Moldovan Government Decision No. 427 of June 10, 2011, represents an appreciation of the contribution of the community of historians to the promotion of historical truth and democratic values.

The Institute of History of ASM in collaboration with the National Museum of History of Moldova organized on June 8, 2017, the Anniversary Scientific Conference "The First Ecclesiastical Journal in the Bessarabian Space (150 years since the publication of the journal Kišinevskie Eparhial'nye Vedomosti)". In the opening speech, dr. hab. Elena Ploşnita, scientific secretary of the National Museum of History of Moldova, stressed the importance of celebrating 150th years of the church press in Bessarabia. The foundation of the church press in the eparchy of Chișinău and Hotin in 1867 is a cultural and spiritual event that marked the religious life of the entire diocese. The scientific conference was held in the Conference Hall of the National Museum of History of Moldova and was moderated by dr. Eugen Onicov, professor at the Academy of Orthodox Theology in Chișinău.
