The Institute of History and the National Library of the Republic of Moldova organized on 20 September 2018 the Scientific Conference "The Old Romanian Book - a Monument of Culture and Spirituality (330 years from the printing of the Bible in Romanian)", which was hosted by the Book Museum of the Nationa lLibrary of the Republic of Moldova. In the conference program, eight researchers enrolled with papers, approaching various subjects related to the history of the ecclesiastical book in the Romanian space.

On September 6, 2018, took place the launch of the book "Is he still a Philosopher? Essay about Karl Marx", published by Cartea Romaneasca. The event was organized by the Philosophy Sector of the Institute of History in cooperation with the Institute of Socio-Human Researches, Craiova, of the Romanian Academy.

The author of the book Ion Militaru, scientific researcher I at the Institute of Socio-Human Researches "C. S. Nicolăescu-Plopşor" talked about the genesis of this book as an intellectual project and about the need to launch it, especially in an area that was more marked by the footprints of Marx, Lenin, than in the West of Europe.

The Institute of History from Chişinău (Contemporary History Section) and the Institute for Socio-Human Research "C.S. Nicolăescu-Plopşor" of the Romanian Academy from Craiova, in cooperation with the Faculty of History and Philosophy of the State University of Moldova, organized on September 3, 2018, the scientific conference "Collective identities and cultural backgrounds in the horizon of history. Achievements, perspectives in the researches of historical anthropology".

The collaborators of the History Institute (32 historians) participated in the works of the 2nd National Congress of Romanian Historians, held in Iaşi, at the "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University, in the days of 29 August - 1 September 2018. The Institute of History from Chisinau was among the organizers of this high scientific forum. In addition to the papers presented in sections, the Institute's researchers participated in several roundtables, launched several volumes of books, and Acad. Valeriu Pasat opened for more than 400 participants the xhibition Facetes of Stalinist in Bessarabia: documents, drawings, memoirs from Gulag of a Bessarabian woman.
